Ok, I'm back. Etc. I'm posting another song, number 9. This is one of my favorites, it's the one I wrote with David. I guess a lot of you have actually heard this one. Cool. Anyway, the song is introduced as follows: 'This is a song that I wrote the other day with my brother David. It's a song about the day we saw the most beautiful girl we had ever seen. This is the song about the day that changed my life...'

The Day That Changed My Life
-Jason and David Vermette, December 2004

V. 1
I still remember it like it was yesterday the day that changed my life
See last week I met this girl - when I saw her I melted inside
I never thought I’d find someone to love and take my hand
But on that day I may have found the one when she said...

Chorus
I'll have a number three hold the cheese
With a coke and a medium fry
And when I heard her voice
And I looked into her eyes
I said this is the one for me
This is the one for me

V.2
She had a flower in her hair and her eyes were as deep as the ocean
Her smile could light my world when I saw it I melted inside
I never thought I’d find someone to love and take my hand
But on that day I know I found the one when she said…

Repeat Chorus
Repeat V. 1 and V. 2 Simultaneously

Bridge
Her voice was like sweet harmony
Her eyes were like the sea
Her smile was like a brilliant light
Her face so heavenly
Who would have thought at work today at McDonald’s
I’d find the love of my life when she said…

Repeat Chorus

This is the one for me...

There. It still kinda bugs me that one of the best, if not the best song I ever wrote was a goofy song about a girl that I was just writing to be funny. Oh well. More songs forthcoming. Maybe.

ok, I finally recorded the next song. this would be song number 8, if youre counting. The song "Echoes" is obviously not a typical example of my music. I got an effects box for my electric and one day I was just messing with all the settings. The result was writing that song. It was very easy to record, having only one guitar part and no vocals, but even then it's still a pretty rough recording. I didn't spend a lot of time on it, I just think it sounds pretty cool. It's kind of repetitive, so if you get bored at least listen from 2:00 to 2:09, that's my favorite 9 seconds. Maybe if you're lucky I'll record some of my other songs soon. Anyway. Links below to the song.

Ok, maybe I'll post lyrics to the next one soon. It's a good one.

Ok, this is probably sensory overload for some of you. Posting another song so soon. I really want to get to my new song though. Maybe I'll actually start writing more. That would rock. So anyway, this is my seventh song. It's the first one I wrote at ORU. It starts out (surprise) kind of depressing. Weird, since I'm pretty sure I was really happy that semester. But this is what came out:

Right Where You Told Me
-Crosseyed, Late 2004

V. 1
I try to hear Your voice but all I hear is nothing
I try to know Your will but all I know is nothing
I try to see Your face but all I see is nothing
I know You have a plan for me or is my life for nothing

Oh, all for nothing...
Will I find You in this place?
This place I come to hoping to find You
Are You here for me?

Chorus
And I know You should be here
Right where You told me You'd come and meet me Lord
But I just can't find You here
And I'm scared to move on my own

V.2
I try to find a place of rest but all I find is nothing
I try to meet You where You're at but all I meet is nothing
I try to feel the peace You have but all I feel is nothing
I know You're waiting here for me or all You've said was nothing

Oh, it was nothing...
Will I find You in this place?
This place I come to hoping to find You
Are You here for me?

Repeat Chorus 2x

Will I find You in this place?
This place I come to hoping to find You
Are You here for me?

Oh and You've always been here
Right where You told me You'd come and meet me Lord
But I just couldn't find You here
And I couldn't move on my own

And You've always been here
Right where You told me You'd come and meet me Lord
And I've finally found You here
And I'll never move on my own

Well.. I definitely don't like it as much on paper.. er, computer screen. I think it works ok out loud though. It has a lot more movement in the chords instead of just sitting there. That's kinda cool. Uh.. this song is just more.. developed? I don't know. Whatever. It's late, or early. Next song should be soon, unless my mood changes. Peace out.

Bam! Two in a row! What now?!? Uh.. yea, so, here's another song. The number six. Updating so soon because I finally wrote a new song (not this one) and I want to get to it, but I'm still doing these in order. Soooo..... This song: uh.. actually, I don't really wanna talk about what this one's about.. but anyway, I wrote it just before the end of my senior year. I probably like it more than it's worth, but that's because it had significant meaning for me. It also has a pretty cool guitar part. Anyway, here it is.

No Strings Attached
-Crosseyed, May 2004

V. 1
If this is Your will, why am I so afraid?
If this is Your plan, why don't I understand?
I can't see why this has to be the road You place before me
I don't know why You'd say to let go of all I love and know

Chorus
But this is me with no strings attached, nothing to hold me back
And here I am even though I don't understand, I'll only trust Your plan - and You

V.2
If this is Your will, I won't be so afraid
If this is Your plan, I don't have to understand
But I still can't see why this has to be the road You place before me
And I still don't know why You'd say to let go of all I love and know

Repeat Chorus

V.3
How can I have peace, and also unspeakable pain?
They say time heals all wounds, but only You can heal this broken heart of mine
You let me know that You love me so and You will not let me go
Cut my strings and remove all the things that block the life You bring

Repeat Chorus

You let me know that You love me so and You will not let me go
Cut my strings and remove all the things that block the life You bring

Repeat Chorus

So... that's a good song, I think. Though it's kinda sad. That seems to be a trend for me, anyway. It's easier to write songs about hard times than easy, I guess. Anyway, more later.

Long time coming, my 5th song. I wrote this song for someone close to me who needed it, depicting the way I felt God was calling out to him. He never heard it, but it all worked out. I guess God got through to him.

Trust in Me
-Crosseyed, Early 2004

V. 1
Open your eyes, can't you see that you're blind?
I only want what's best for you, for you my child
What has gotten into you that's blocking off your mind
In me you found peace and rest for you, for you my child

You trusted me to be your strength and Savior, strength and Savior
Where are the days where you put your trust in, trust in me

Chorus
Trust in me I will be there for you
Your steps are in my hands
Trust in me I will always guide you
With my perfect plan

V.2
Open your eyes, can't you see that you're blind?
That's not the life I have for you, for you my child
I see the fear inside of you of the path you cannot find
In me is the hope I have for you, for you my child

You lie awake at night to search for something, search for something
Come back to me and just put your trust in, trust in me

Repeat Chorus

Bridge
All you must do is trust in me
Lay all your burdens at my feet
If you trust in yourself you will always fall
Take one step to me and that will be all
I'll take your worries and cares from the start
Giving you peace and joy in your heart
Remember the day when I took all your pain
You said you'd always trust my name

Repeat Chorus w/ variation
Repeat Chorus
Fade Out

There ya go. I really like the music to this one more than the words. Besides that they have special meaning to me, I'm not sure the words make a great song. I can't really tell, since I can't really see it objectively. Either way, cool music and I finally posted another song. Should have another one much sooner than last time.
